  • Do I need more than one estimate?

    Only if you want to discuss the repairs with more than one body shop. One estimate completes insurance company requirements and work can begin on your vehicle.

  • How long will it take?

    That depends on the extent of the damage, however Govanis Auto Body has an unrivaled turnaround time on auto body repairs.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, personal and business checks. All credit transactions subject to an additional 3% surcharge.

  • When do I pay the body shop?

    Payment is made when you pick up your vehicle, after all repairs are complete.

  • Do you warranty your work?

    Govanis Auto Body guarantees its work against defects in materials and/or workmanship for "as long as you own the car". Only normal wear and tear or abuse are excluded.*
    * Mechanical and electrical parts are covered by the respective manufacturers' warranties.
    *This guarantee is non-transferable, but is valid as long as you own the vehicle.

  • Is my new paint covered under your warranty?

    Govanis Auto Body guarantees that your paint repair, or complete paint job, will stand up for as long as you own your car, or we'll fix it for you.

Auto Body Repair Questions

  • What parts will you use?

    There are two different kinds of parts: OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer parts. For example, Toyota OEM parts are made by Toyota for Toyota vehicles. Aftermarket Parts - These are not made by the manufacturer, but manufacturers offer certifications to ensure fit, function and safety.

  • How do you match the new paint to my original color?

    Your paint is color matched using the Matrix Computer Color Matching System, one of the most up-to-date color-matching systems available on the market today.

  • Do you detail the car when the repairs are complete?

    Detailing is part of every repair. Your car will be returned with a freshly washed exterior and a vacuumed, clean interior.

  • When can I wash my car?

    Since Govanis Auto Body bakes your vehicle's finish, it may be washed right away. However, wait 30 days after repairs to wax your car.

Insurance Questions

  • If I have a deductible, how is it paid?

    Your deductible is collected by Govanis Auto Body when you come to pick up your completed vehicle. Contact us and we can discuss saving you up to $500 on your deductible.

  • Can I get other damages on the car fixed even though they are not part of my claim?

    Absolutely. Just let us know what else you’d like fixed when you’re dropping off your vehicle.

  • Does my insurance company cover scratches?

    Most insurance policies cover scratches under their comprehensive coverage. A distinct advantage is that these claims do not necessarily affect your insurance rates for collision coverage.

  • Since the other party is at fault why do I have to pay my deductible?

    Your deductible is what you agreed to pay when you purchased your policy. If you are pursuing a claim under your policy, you may have a deductible. If the other party is at fault, your insurance company should try to pursue reimbursement of your deductible through that other party.

  • What if I need a rental car?

    INSURED'S: If your insurance company is paying for the repairs you may have an endorsement for Loss of Use on your policy. Your insurance policy will spell out the amount of rental coverage exactly. Ask your insurance claims representative for details. CLAIMANTS: If the other party is paying for the repairs they will also reimburse you for reasonable transportation while your vehicle is in the repair facility. This should include the daily rate, daily license fee, plus tax. Insurance on your personal vehicle may extend to your rental car, so we recommend that you check with your insurance company.

  • What does it mean if my car is a total loss?

    It means that it would not be cost effective to have the vehicle repaired due to the damages it sustained.

  • What happens when a car is deemed a total loss?

    The insurance company has their Total Loss Specialist run a local market valuation specific to the year, make, model, condition and mileage of your car. The Specialist will then contact you regarding the valuation. This should include the car replacement cost and tax and license fees. Your insurance company will also pay for any charges to your car at the shop and pick up your car for sale at auction to a salvage yard.
